Calling all students!
On behalf of Edexcel, we have an exciting opportunity for you to win a meal for five people at your nearest Jamie's Italian restaurant, plus £50 worth of vouchers to spend on books and cookware at his JME online store, a personalised signed book and your winning entry will be posted on Jamie Oliver’s blog.
Jamie Oliver will be judging the competition and this year's theme is Food Revolution Day. Food Revolution Day on 17th May 2013 is a chance for people to come together and share good food, knowledge and resources with each other and to celebrate the importance of a eating well.

If you are a student aged 14-19 years and you are studying at a school or college in the UK we'd like you to enter the competition. You don't need to be studying for the Edexcel BTEC in Home Cooking Skills course or be an expert chef, we want everyone to have a go! The competition is open to individual and group applicants (max 4 people per group)
Here's what you need to do:
Design, plan and cook a meal for one scenario from the three options below. The meal should include at least two dishes or courses, and include details of a drink to accompany the food. You should think about the specific requirements of the scenario and explain how you intend to cater for them in your meal design. For example, if are preparing a meat-free dish because you are catering for vegetarians - tell us that!
If your teacher hasn't heard about the competition yet, send this link on to them and persuade them to let you get started!

What are the scenario options?
You are holding a dinner party for friends and/or family to celebrate Food Revolution Day.
You are running a Food Stall at a school fete on Food Revolution Day.
You have taken over the running of the school canteen on Food Revolution Day and will be serving lunch to the whole school.
